Authentic Nyonya Food at Auntie Lee Restaurant

The two superheroes were back in Malacca a couple of weeks ago because Superhero S' Superhero Bro would be leaving for Florida a week after that. Yes, as of now, he's already in Florida, staying in a classy hotel while exploring the rest of NASA space station.

So we all decided to grab a nice homely dinner at our favourite restaurant, Auntie Lee, which serves the best Nyonya foodie in town. To be frank, Superhero S literally grew up eating in that restaurant. I've been eating there since I was still in my early schooling days! Haha. Which is why, the entire family knows Auntie Lee personally.

Malacca is a place that is full of the Peranakan heritage, the Baba & Nyonyas. And most people who come visiting to Malacca in hope of searching for superb Nyonya foodie would often find themselves in Melaka Raya in one of the many many over-rated restaurants there.

But for the superheroes clan, we have always stood firm with our choice, Auntie Lee, located in Ujong Pasir. Lemme tell you why. This place hasn't changed in years, still very very homely. This place only has maximum 6-7 tables at one time. This place only has 1 cook, with Auntie Lee personally cooking ALL the dishes they serve.

So if you're planning to make your trip here, you've gotta make a reservation just to guarantee you a seat in this cosy little restaurant. No booking, no table. And they are seriously lacking in manpower. So you have to be a little patient with the waitress as well. Haha. :p

All the wait is always worth it because over here, you will be served some very authentic, home-cooked Nyonya cuisine. Oh yeah... Just check out their Curry Devil... superb!

And this is their Cencaluk Omelette. Oh-so-sedap!!!

Their super delicious Kangkung Sambal Belacan...

Some Tauhu Taucu to balance up all the spicyness in the menu. Haha.. :p

And of course, the must-have Ikan Cili Garam, their signature dish! This time around, the fishy my Superhero Bro ordered was Ikan Gelama or something.

We even specially ordered an extra little plate of their Cili Garam which is absolutely mmMMMmmm..... yummy! Spicy but with a hint of saltyness as well. Cili with garam mah... what do you expect?! Haha. *wink wink*

Oh, and whenever you're dining in a Nyonya restaurant, remember to order their Nyonya Cendol! Now this one is a killer...! Haha. Super sedap. The ice just melts in your mouth and there's the irresistible taste of sweetness from the gula melaka. OH!!

There's many more to the menu here in Auntie Lee's. And we only managed to order a handful because we were all full to the brink by the time the dinner table got to this...

All the dishes sapu clean. *grins*

And now, all of us can sleep happy.... zzZZzzz...

Hi!

I'll be visiting Melaka soon to try the famous Nyonya food. Besides Auntie Lee Restaurant, can recommend a few other restaurants that worth visiting other than the "usual over-rated and over-priced restaurants at Melaka Raya"?
Thanks!

Hi gin, haha...perhaps you can browse through our posts with the label "Malacca", http://toosuperheroes.blogspot.com/search/label/Malacca

There's a recommendation for chicken rice balls, a special cheese bee hoon dish in one of the restaurants mentioned, or perhaps you can head over to "Jasmine Deli", right beside Auntie Lee's Restaurant for some really cheap delicious Nyonya Laksa and such. Hope it helps! :p

Hi! twosuperheroes,

do you have the contact number for Auntie Lee?

gin

Oh gosh....not really, gin. Because we'd usually head over there half a day earlier to make the reservations since it's quite near my house. But if you're heading over on weekdays, I believe there is no need for reservations. :)
